Research

Dr. Jun Xu's research is focused on the solid-state NMR studies of inorganic and hybrid inorganic-organic functional materials. He has made significant progress in characterizing the structure of solid materials, host-guest interactions, dynamics and phase changes, surface and interfaces, and disordering in materials.

PersonalProfile

Dr. Jun Xu obtained his B. Sc. degree in Chemistry from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University (Supervisor: Prof. Chun-Hua Yan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science) from 2004 to 2008, and the Ph. D. degree in Inorganic Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry of the University of Western Ontario (Canada, Supervisor: Prof. Yining Huang) from 2008 to 2014. He then worked as a postdoc scholar in the University of California Berkeley (USA, Supervisor: Prof. Jeffrey A. Reimer) from 2014 to 2017 and the ETH Zurich (Switzerland, Supervisor: Prof. Christophe Copéret) from 2017 to 2018. After that, he joined the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Nankai Uninversity in September 2018 and became a member of the Tianjin Key Lab for Rare Earth Materials and Applications. His work has been published in high-impact journals such as Sci. Adv., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., J. Phys. Chem. Lett., Chem. Mater., etc. as first or corresponding authors. He has won the Jinshan Research Excellence Award of OCMRS (2015) and now is the PI for multiple NSFC grants.
