Research

To aim for the development of sustainable energy, and the realization of the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality for our society, it is of vital significance to develop photocatalytic overall water splitting (OWS) for “green hydrogen” production. Recently, our group has mainly focused on the key scientific problems related to “hydrogen production via photocatalytic OWS”, with a special attention to the processes of light absorption, charge separation and catalytic conversion. Until now, our group has published more than 40 peer reviewed journal articles, in which 14 papers have been published in flagship journals, such as Nat. Rev. Mater., Joule (2), J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (2), ACS Catal., as an independent first author or a corresponding author. Following aspects are our present research interests.

1.      Development of novel photocatalytic semiconductors with narrow band gaps;

2.      Development of effective strategies for efficient charge carriers utilization;

3.      Construction of efficient artificial photosynthesis systems including OWS.

Postdoctoral fellow positions are available in our group. If interested in applying for this position, please send a cover letter and CV to Prof. Shanshan Chen (sschen@nankai.edu.cn).

We are looking forward for you to joining us!
